Plas Kynaston restoration reaches final of Heritage Angel Awards Wales

The Welsh Georgian Trust’s restoration of Plas Kynaston in Cefn Mawr has been shortlisted for the Heritage Angel Awards Wales in the category ‘Best Rescue of an Historic Building or Place (for projects under £5m)’. Heritage Angel Awards Wales is a new Welsh awards scheme sponsored by the Andrew Lloyd-Webber Foundation and the winners in each category will be announced at an awards ceremony in Caerphilly Castle on Thursday 8 November 2018. Plas Gunter Mansion on TV

Dr Elin Jones and Rhodri Davies recently visited Plas Gunter Mansion to film an item for ‘Heno’, S4C’s Welsh language TV magazine show. The film provides a fascinating overview of the building’s association with Saint David Lewis, Catholicism in Abergavenny, and the religious struggles following the Restoration in the 1660s and 1670s.
